Relief can bring about a fantastic new outlook, don't you think?
The easement of a worry can be one of the most euphoric feelings possible. It's as if, in the story that is you're life, someone has begun a new chapter. The space between pages is a like a deep sigh that feels weightless in you're lungs. The strain of stress is released and it's as if the air has become crisper, even on a sticky summer day.
I love this feeling. So much in fact, that I think maybe the only reason for feeling stress so intensely, is for the post-anxiety high. The feeling that everything is going to be okay. After all that, you can handle anything.
Is the sweetness of relief worth the pain of the burden? Maybe not.
Maybe.
I sit writing as that deep sigh fills my lungs like a new life. It is a small rebirth. The world sounds lighter. Cicadas will buzz happily in the heat. Trains squeal excitedly into the yards. It's raining, but the rain smells sweet and feels soft. The rhythm of cars on the busy street lulls me into contentment.

Taking a breath.
Listening to Mumford & Sons
Going to sleep soundly tonight, I think.
